Following graduation, from 1982 to 1988, obtained various fellowships and Research Grants of the National Council of Research of the Argentine (CONICET). Work was carried out at the "Multidisciplinary Centre of Plant Biology (IMBIV)" of the National University of Córdoba. From 18-03-1991 to 30-01-1995 she is Assistant Researcher of the CONICET the National University of Cordoba (Argentine).

University of Rome "TRE" (Italy):

In October 2002, she became Associate Professor in the Department of Biology of the University of Rome "TRE" . In January 2011 she became Full Professor , scientific-disciplinary Bio/03 (Plant Ecology).

2. TEACHING COURSES

University of Rome 3 (Italy):

  • Ecology for the Graduate Course in Biological Sciences.

  • Ecology and conservation of coastal ecosystems for the Master Course in Biology.

University of Siena (Italy):

  • Ecology and conservation of coastal dunes, from 2006 to 2009 (Graduate Course in Environmental Sciences).

3. SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITIES

4.1. MAIN RESEARCH AREAS

Prof. Acosta conducts research activity on Plant Ecology, basically in community ecology. Topics of interest include distribution patterns of plant communities at different scales, dynamics of plant communities and effects of environmental and human mediated drivers, community assemblage rules, biodiversity analyses and the impact of plant invasion processes. In the last years research has been focused on coastal ecosystems, mainly on coastal dune vegetation. She has been working primarily in field-based plant ecology but research has broadened recently to more large scale vegetation analyses.
